Meet Liana

You can move at a pace that feels right for you.

You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You might be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with something difficult, or simply trying to make sense of how you're feeling. Whatever brings you here, you deserve a space where you can talk openly, explore your experiences and feel accepted without judgement.

I'm Liana, a qualified CBT psychotherapist offering therapy to adults and young people aged 11 and over. At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves to feel accepted, understood and valued. My training is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but my approach is broader than one therapeutic model. I recognise that our experiences, relationships and circumstances can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.

I believe you are the expert in your own experience. My role is to listen, understand and work alongside you, drawing on different therapeutic approaches in a way that reflects your individual needs and what you hope to gain from therapy. For some people, this might involve exploring patterns in thoughts, feelings and behaviours, developing practical strategies or finding new ways of responding to difficult experiences. For others, it may be about having the time and space to talk, reflect and make sense of what's happening in their lives.

My approach is integrative, compassionate and collaborative, with an awareness of how past experiences and relationships can shape how we feel and respond to the world around us. I work in a trauma-informed way, recognising the importance of safety, trust and choice within the therapeutic relationship. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent-affirming. I recognise that we all experience and navigate the world differently, and aim to offer a space where those differences are understood, respected and welcomed.

My Professional Background

Before and alongside my work as a psychotherapist, I've built up many years of experience working in frontline NHS healthcare, supporting people through some of their most vulnerable and challenging moments. My healthcare career has involved working in demanding and unpredictable environments, where supporting and advocating for people has been an important part of my role.

These experiences have shaped my understanding of the challenges people can face and the importance of approaching each person with compassion, respect and without assumptions. I also work as a school counsellor, supporting young people in mainstream and additional support needs (ASN) secondary school settings. This has given me further insight into the emotional, social and developmental challenges young people can experience, and the importance of understanding their individual needs, circumstances and perspectives.

Working Together

I offer face-to-face and online therapy, as well as walk-and-talk sessions.

There is no expectation to know exactly what you want from therapy or where to begin. We can take time to explore what's happening for you, understand what matters to you and work towards changes that feel meaningful in your life.

I offer a free initial telephone consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what brings you to therapy and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

You can move at a pace that feels right for you.

In-Person Sessions Meet in a calm, comfortable setting in Glasgow where you can talk openly and feel at ease.

About Us
About Our Counselling Practice in Glasgow

Come as you are. We can start from there.

What it means to belong.

It’s human nature to want to belong. Not simply to fit in, but to feel accepted, understood and valued for who we are — without having to hide parts of ourselves, pretend we’re okay or change who we are to be accepted.

Sometimes life can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, from others or from the things that once gave us a sense of identity. Experiences such as anxiety, grief, trauma, changes in our health or difficult relationships can affect how we see ourselves and where we feel we belong.

The Belonging Therapy was created as a space where you can arrive as you are, without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we can begin to understand what you’re experiencing, recognise patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck and explore ways to move forward.
